Sometimes there's not much text in the game, the text might have compression, that there is plenty of space in the ROM and [might not be for GBC but on other systems] a larger ROM. There even been cases where the US version actually has translations and assets of an unfinished European version because the US has 3 languages at most (English, sometimes French and Spanish too). Worst case scenario, features get removed just to fit it in. For the logos there are special tricks that saves space in a cartridge (only having a couple of tiles that get repeated, changing palette, simplifying the Spanish flag). Really the only common country logos that take up the most space during this time are the UK, US, and Brazilian flags. |
