The sprites aren't prefectly aligned in 16x16 tiles, also I imagine the black would be transparent here
I know that, but some of the 16x16 tiles still break this color limit by having 5 colors, white, pink, beige, yellow, and black.
The original arcade DK is composed of six 16x16 sprites, each with three colors, but the face sprite uses a different palette that uses white instead of orange in order to give him an extra color. This sheet does something similar.
WAAAAAAking kong
This is really nice! I like Wario's color scheme here.
I know, and it makes sense
Huh, I can see that!
If I remember correctly Wario was also inspired by Bluto.
Donkey Kong was originally supposed to be a Popeye game with Bluto as the villain, so maybe this was intentional.
Huh, he reminds me of Bluto from Popeye. Probably even Brutus, for that matter.
My best guess would be his color scheme in Wario's Woods for the NES.
This looks pretty good ! My only issues is that some of Wario's tiles break the 3 colors limit of the original arcade game (unless they're supposed to be separate sprites overlayed on top of each other). Also, is there a reason why he has a white shirt and pink cap and overalls ?
Ooo, i like the gold tooth!
