I started to do so, but then found inconsistencies in frame counts when running through the same scenes, dependant on the time of day. I can try again. |

Have those "cutscenes" that appear before you fight a boss been ripped yet? |

You shouldn't have to ask, I'm pretty sure you can use them if you give credit. |

@Gamey While that would be cool, these break the palette limitations so much that serious editing would need to be done beforehand, and then they'd look like crap regardless. |

This is great, it was always kinda weird how a few of his sprites were updated but the others were left basically the same as Sonic 2's but with color changes. |

Apr 23, 2020, 9:53 AM | digitalgamer800 | Game: Super Mario Maker 2 |
and their models probably come from nsmbw in model resource. |

i'd love it of someone made a smw rom hack that replaces the koopalings and bowser's sprites with these! It'd be pretty cool. |

"Extract sprites without using dolphin emulator" "which you have access after extracting files via dolphin" Yeah, you still need to use Dolphin. |

@Delta If your talking about the nsmbu style then I don't know if they are getting ripped here. |

@Delta Has it ever crossed your mind to look at the enemy sheets? |
Apr 23, 2020, 9:22 AM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Sheet: Enemies (SMW) |
And see, that's the problem. The SMW sprites sucked, so by making these good, they are by default not SMW style. |

@Neslug While I see exactly what you're talking about, I still think I did a good job and feel like I acomplished what I wanted, that being a blend of off-model and on-model. I'll also agree with Skarmory too. |

Apr 23, 2020, 8:58 AM | Dolphman | Sheet: Kaiju Portraits |
I really like the presence of obscure kaiju on here. (Maguma from Gorath, the three from Space Amoeba: Yog, Leo the male Mothra, Dagahra) Also, for a 1998 game, it's surprising they added Zilla this early to the cast as it came out the same year as that movie. (And he wouldn't have a canon movie appearance until Final Wars) The six original game exclusive kaiju look pretty awesome as well. |

Whenever I see people attempting the RGB style, I honestly think they really overplay the incorrect proportions and weird poses. Looking at a complete sheet of all the official RGB sprites, I see more than a dozen Pokémon that are almost completely on-model and accurate to current designs (for example, Clefable, Electabuzz and Gyarados). In terms of the shading and broken outlines, these are really good. But overall, I think you tried too hard to make them look bad or weird; which in turn makes some of them, such as Furret and Wobbuffet, look way too big. The actual RGB Pokémon are surprisingly consistent with their sizes. While a lot of the official sprites aren't so good, it honestly looks like the artists tried their best to make good artwork. The quality varied because not all of the artists were equally skilled, which makes the style extremely difficult to imitate on a large scale like this. Don't want to put you down, because you clearly have the skill. I think Skarmory turned out the best and could really pass as real. |
