Yup, they are! Some of the original backgrounds actually had high quality renders of them appear in a Japanese guidebook for the game! They're pretty surreal to look at, frankly.
Is it just me or can you guys emulate videogames in your head? Not just like prerecorded inputs, but the full game in your head. Cause I can run this game in my head, and soon enough Doom.
where are the graphics for starting gourmet race?
@Flaming Hot Toons From what I've seen it's the similar art direction some of the games take
Why are the castle interior and grassland tilesets in The Great Cave Offensive section? Both are in other subgames and the latter isn't even in TGCO.
Did this game use pre-rendered 3d sprites for its backgrounds? Most of them have a 90s CG feeling (sort of).
@GameyFireBro i think every kirby fan did
Anyone watch the Kirby Found Footage Horror Series TMK?
The best Kirby game in existence comes with a famous meme: NOVA DYING!!!!
These sprites look like someting from the gba not snes.
yo does anyone know where to find the butterflies in the green greens intro? need them for smth
Woah, that's weird. I found it interesting that the Ultra remake had 24x24 tiles, but it turns out the tiles were that size in the original too? How is that even possible? I thought tiles on the snes had to be 8x8, 16x16, or 32x32, etc.
edit: wow in the past two years since I made this very naive comment I have learned a lot about how the SNES works, and now know that all the snes knows about is 8x8 tiles. You can make your game engine's "tiles" be any multiple of 8 but the graphics processor itself does not care.

hey, just wanted to know, what was used to rip the sprites?
is it bad that i prefer this games sprites to ultra's
i really like their style and choppy animation frames its so charming compared to ultra

ONE, TWO, I'm so sorry...
Did some general cleanup/made notes on what we need to replace here.
