And the thing about OCs? In most countries, IP laws dictate that whoever made the setting they're intended for owns the characters as well. Which means "Darksteel the Hedgeheg" belongs to SEGA, and Sonichu is owned jointly by SEGA and Game Freak.
@Doc von Schmeltwick: You know, I've never actually stumbled upon any sprite comic on DeviantArt (IIRC).
Also, speaking of bad OCs (Or FCs if you want to be technical, unless we're talking about actual original characters); we all know that some of most infamous kinds are the ones that are just blatant recolors of already existing characters.
However, there are also times when an "OC" doesn't even look like they belong in the universe they're made for.
I've seen some FNaF OCs that look more like they belong in an amateur furry comic than actually in Five Nights at Freddy's.
