The Summon Rat action is actually present in the game. When the Rat King will KO you personally, there's a chance he'll put the rat on the ground (it probably depends how many rats are on the screen).
(EDIT: Yep, just saw it for myself in-game. Guess I wasn't expecting there to be an animation tied to getting KO'd, so that's something I'll keep in mind from now on.)
