@Doc von Schmeltwick It's easy, but at the same time more easier to leave a broken palette trying to rush these out the door (see: the Kraken).
@Molly Consider how easy it is to program an unmoving image on a black background. That should answer it, thereabouts.
Huh, the monster sprites are done much better than the other FFIV bootleg. (I didn't even know there were two different FFIV bootlegs on NES!) BUT there are way less of them. Looks as though this one just contains the very beginning and very ending of the original game.
