@Jdramirez It's the other way around because this existed far before BB8. Besides it's quite a simple design it could come from centuries ago from who knows what. I seen things like these in old Orthodox church books too frescas etc ...

Star Wars is not known for being original anyway. They copied the story, design etc and music is generic as it can be.
