@The Nate It doesn't work like that... If it was ripped from a savestate via c64ripper and looks like that, then that's how it is suppose to be. Sometimes it's the game itself that does the scaling (a recent example for me was Speed King on the Amstrad CPC). If it was captured though, yeah chances are that it would have to be re-ripped. Would have checked myself except the only emulator that has a graphics viewer to my knowledge currently only supports the PAL C64 due to the larger library so it wouldn't work (it's a very recent emulator too). One month later... US Gold also released the game and was able to check, the sprites are meant to be like that as it displays on the sprite viewer the same way as the rip does. Also checked the screenshot on Lemon 64 apparently from the Atarisoft/Datasoft version and it matches. The rip seems to be good. :) |

I dont think we need each individual sprite as a zip? Like, we could just have the regular sprites together, then have all the palette swaps in a different thing. Like we could at least just have a bunch of sheets as opposed to each individual sprite file. |

@MegaDrive2000 Pretty much. Garfield's sprites are blatantly taken from the comics' art and sloppily edited. It's more obvious in one level where the enemies are two sleazy diner workers who appeared once who filled in for the regular diner clerk Irma. Even more baffling is the level in the Arbuckle farm where Jon's mom is smaller than Garfield's sprites! The second GBA game was an improvement but still looked bad. (Garfield's sprites were traced over the ones from Garfield: Caught in the Act) |

Looks can be deceptive as this is one of the worst platformers that are out there yet so few know about it. The physics are broken, the collision detection is broken making that you can get stuck, makes it easy to get caught by Tom and even has the invisible ceiling problem that Count Duckula 2 has. Even a longplay video has problems going up a platform. Says something when it makes some of the go-to worst platformers (e.g. Awesome Possum) not that bad and only second to Count Duckula 2 or the likes of bootlegs. The C64 version by comparison is a bit better with its collision detection and the physics but still has same issues to a lesser extent and makes Jerry a kangaroo. Not one of the worst for that version but still better platformers out there. (Plus I can get much further rather than stuck at Stage 1) |

@Noah Infinity Not quite... While they have most of the same buttons, they don't look the same especially the + button and the D-Pad is completely different (even that depends on Switch model, some have the D-Pad as 4 buttons while the Lite does have a D-Pad). Companies are very picky when it comes to showing the button icons, in some cases enough to reject your game and have to submit another build to correct them. Thinking it is part of certification at least on PlayStation consoles, Microsoft and Nintendo might have something similar. |
