If the developers wanted to, they could have kept the blue and made all the hammer heads have their own palette but I guess it may have saved space to have the hammer heads be part of Mario and Luigi's palettes considering they needed that 15th colour slot to change colours over the course of the game. The hammer colour is why there's no more light blue. Interestingly though, there's a lot of button shading differences, the prototype liked using the light brown more |
