I like Ton, I'm sure he had good intentions. However racism is an important and difficult topic to talk about. Making a title out of it on a video game sprite site in such a trivial manner with no description at all felt out of place and franctly, kind of lazy. In my opinion it's demeaning of the movement. As for the replies, NO ONE implied that BLM is an unimportant. I also find it quite funny that people try to assume someone's skin color based on an online post
Racism has been affecting our country for a long time now, and it's been causing protests, riots, and unfortunately, death. And seeing people joke about this kind of thing makes me sick, there has been people who have been under slavery, killed, and tortured, all because of their race.

The responses here are shockingly disappointing. Anyone who replies to “black lives matter” with some variant of “all lives matter” is completely missing the point. Of course all lives matter - nobody is saying they don’t or that black lives matter more. But most people aren’t the victims of systemic racism, especially at the hands of police, and this movement is an attempt to bring that to light and try to do something about it. I truly hope those of you who don’t get that are simply misunderstanding and not, at best, willfully ignorant or at worst, openly racist.
The specification alone implies that. "Lives of people killed or had their livelihood ruined by police brutality or senseless rioting, regardless of skin tone of victim or aggressor, matter" is better.

@GigaX: Nobody said anything about black lives being worth more or less than anyone else's. Just saying "black lives matter" is not enough to imply that.
Black lives aren't worth more than anyone else's. All lives matter equally.
I'm more of a "No Lives Matter" kind of person.

@Petie But it sort of does when you think about it. While it's not outright downplaying non-black victims of police brutality, and while it's totally justified to focus more on black victims more due to their prevalence compared to other races, putting more focus on black victims inherently takes focus away from other races, thus implicitly making them less important compared.

@SpritZ Agreed, though I take issue with the idea that we shouldn't be allowed to joke about it. Humor is a vital tool in helping us deal with the often horrifying reality we find ourselves in. Why do you think we're no longer afraid of a certain german dictator? Because we've been able to openly mock him and his hateful ideology. By all means feel free to not find any of it funny, but I wouldn't be so cavalier as to demonize the concept of black humor.
