@aniplup_32 Everyone and their grandma seems to use these sprites without credit anyways (though other sites have other rips as well). Anyways, it's typically best to give credit in every case except the ones that specifically ask not to give credit. But as long as they don't say they want you to, there's nothing compelling you to do so.

@Dolphman I've seen SMAS SMB3 Mario in a fan game like, once? And World's roughly 60? And SMAS SMB3 has subjectively better graphics than World? It's a personal preference thing, but every time I see World's sunburned-looking Mario sprites in fan games I am utterly baffled as to why they are chosen.
Now, sprites for say, Goombas from SMB3 I'll admit are used a bit much. But not for Mario.

SMAS SMB3 sprites are way more overused than SMW's, to the point I'm tired of seeing them and customs in the style. Ice Goom's SMW Redrawn sprites are just as overused.
@TheMorningFlash15 For every flash game with Superstar Saga sprites, there are about 5 with Super Mario World sprites. Assets of SMW are so overused in fan games, that apparently many people think "Donut Plains" is part of the Mushroom Kingdom (actually it's in Dinosaur Land).
