did anyone else try to see if all the zone's tilesets and backgrounds matched up and got confused because they kept counting Marble Zone's outside and indoors background as 2 seperate zones?
Thanks to everyone who's contributed to these sheets. This is an amazing resource and saved me hours of work when making the NYE Flash animation that played after the Sonic 1 prototype. Most of the animation was made from these sheets but there were some grabs from the proto too.
Ah, it's alright! I guess it was going to be done eventually.
@Iso Kilo - I finished a revision and submitted it a few hours before your comment, sorry! There's usually a pencil icon at the top of the page to click to revise, but as it stands while I write this, my revision is still in the queue so there's no pencil icon on the Special Stage sheet page.
I've got an edited version of the Special Stage stage sheet which adds the prototype items. But I'm not sure how to edit pre-existing sheets...
They're literally on the Scrap Brain Zone section of the joint-Labyrinth Zone and Scrap Brain Act 3 Object sheet. They just need to be recolored to the Labyrinth palette, a minute's work.
But I'm sending a revision in.

Water, anyone? Specifically the water sprite(s) for Labyrinth Zone. Thanks!
@Fred - Scrap Brain Zone has a different set-up for the clouds, Spring Yard Zone has a different arrangement for the clouds, mountains and buildings.
What's the difference between Sark and Exe... er... JPN and USA backgrounds?
Don't worry about it. I have Act 2 and 3 prepared to finalise, too, those'll come tonight or tomorrow morning.
I'll try to rip Green Hill Zone. Wish me luck!

Can you be patient?
I don't know how, but no one has ripped Green Hill Zone's layouts.
@Evan.F the sonic 1 proto with the sign is internally lost, we have footage of different protos (https://youtu.be/gtaM0Xme21k)

@Datboimate: I was genuinely thinking Hidden Palace would just reveal the 1990 demo of Sonic 1 someone threw out, due to the goldmine of demos the released during November,
@the order of levels debate: My thoughts for a remake of Sonic 1 would order them as... Green Hill (act one based on the 16 bit act 2 based on the 8 bit), Bridge Zone, Marble Zone, Jungle Zone, Spring Yard (Jungle as the bushes at the bottom of Spring Yard's bg), Labyrinth (same act structure as green hill), Star Light, Scrap brain, Clockwork Zone (as a replacement for Labyrinth act 4), scrap brain act 3, Sky base, Sky base act 3 now as Final Zone.

OK so who thinks that we are eventually gonna find a prototype of this game?
@Gaia I would mix them in with the 8-bit levels, like this: Green Hill Zone > Bridge Zone > Jungle Zone > Marble Zone > Labyrinth Zone (8-bit) > Spring Yard Zone > Star Light Zone > Labyrinth Zone (16-bit) > Scrap Brain Zone > Final Zone > Sky Base Zone.
If I were to arrange levels to fit the story: Green Hill Zone > Sonic begins to track down Eggman, finds himself in Spring Yard Zone > Sonic goes deeper into the city and into Star Light Zone, notices an influx of badniks > Follows them back to Marble Zone > Discovers the entrance to Labrynth Zone > Sonic finds himself at Labrynth Zone's Depths, now at Eggman's doorstep, Scrap Brain Zone > Sonic corners Eggman at Final Zone.
@Dolphman - They'll only end up back under Stages in the long run. I'm working on fixing Divine's entries as the colors are incorrect - the ones used don't match my FSH preference or your RAW preference. I'll get better icons organised to better reflect this, too.
I believe the zones in Stages should be moved to Tilesets to avoid confusion.
