NGL, these sheets really need an update. The current layout of these sheets make them somewhat difficult to use, there's so much space between the sprites that it can be difficult to find the right one. The layout is kinda just annoying, and the previous versions of these sheets were honestly better. Hell, you know it's bad when even the sheet for Sonic Genesis on the GBA is more useable than this one.
DZTVE i dont think so
The warped spin looks stretched
There's a sprite using the old palette in the Tom Payne Archive
Absolutely not happening. While transparency works in certain programs, it's not a universal thing. The black in Sonic's palette would be lost if the dark green and mint spaces were removed.
I wish this was transparent

Not true. Every sprite in proto S3 was modeled after ones from 2, that and the S3 surf sprites and the S1 sliding sprite are a lot different either way, especially with how big the hands look on 3's sprites.

Fun Fact: The "Sliding?" pose was actually used in a Sonic 3 Prototype, where Sonic used his 1/CD sprites(S3 Pallet and prototype-exclusive sprites), and the angel island intro was Sonic snow(?)boarding to the island.(The same prototype where Knux looks weird)
Can read about the prototype here: https://tcrf.net/Proto:Sonic_the_Hedgehog_3#Super_Sonic

@DiamondmanPixel76
It was also used in Sonic 2's ending (Sonic ending)

Fun fact: The Lifted sprite was scrapped from Sonic 1, but returned when Sonic got grabbed by the Grabber badnik in Sonic 2. Funny, right?
Happy 30th anniversary Sonic! ?
Vista. I don't like the ones that came after it.
last question which version of paint do you use to do this
Color selector tool, left click, color selector tool, right click. Edit colors. Select All, Cut. Paint bucket tool. Left click. Paste with transparency active. Instant color change.
so how do you set the scheme
Paint.
so what program did you use to covert 9-bit to 24 bit
@croissant that could've been it. a firey death from flame projectiles was probably planned, but was cut. This was probably the inspiration for Crash's insane amount of death animations in his series, considering that the working title for it was "Sonic's Ass Game".
I personally think the black death sprite would be used if sonic died to the lava in Marble Zone
Also I'm not going to take you seriously when you spouted outright lies on the Knuckles sheet from Knuckles' Chaotix earlier. And "can be difficult to find the right one" when they literally have their animation names right above the sprites in question? Seriously?
