When I see her portrait where she's angry, I always imagine Pink hissing like a cat.

Pinks sprites are credited to the co-director of fields of mistria, Claire Belton, so basically yes

Her entire sprite style is reflective of the old SNES Sailor Moon RPGs outside of the dating sim segments.

seeing as the pc engine can display 512 colors, i don’t think it’d be a problem

Why r sprites always put onto a single sheet n not separate... it makes putting the sprites 2gether a lot more difficult

“I've said something similar before – she's completely based on PCE games like Tokimeki Memorial. But isn't the pink palette (specifically, the console's color palette) quite troublesome for the PCE? (Sorry, I don't really know much about the PCE's palette)

Let's see, face takes cues from Naoko Takeuchi's art style (Especially Sailor Moon), outfit is like a mix of Sakura Kinomoto and Ichigo Momomiya's magical girl costumes.
Any other references I'm missing?
