technically the blood is real since they made physical models for most of the demons and then photo scanned them or something like that

Yeah, don't really think having everything be NSFW is the way to go. It's honestly pretty tame compared to games that have come after it (Doom 2016 for example.)
I think it can be chalked up to "bleeding" and "exploding into giblets" being two wholly different things.
...That hypocrisy can be easily be seen. Jeez.
