..yeah i very much prefer the Master System sprites
@shadowman44 No, there are actually a lot of tiny differences they made to the port, going from graphical changes to take advantage of the Game Gear's color palette, to making Jungle Zone act 2 so much less annoying by removing the screen kill boundary.

How was the PC Remake's Sonic sprite made?
An early prototype did have the Master System Sonic sprites so probably a late or even a last minute decision like with the Sega logo, warning arrows, some changed level design in Labyrinth and the final boss. I don't know why... Might be a screen size thing or wanted a more detailed sprite?
Sonic 2 and Chaos mostly used the same Sonic sprites between the Master System and Game Gear versions but those were done by Aspect rather than Ancient.

i always loved the design used here more then the master system, i always found those ugly and emotionless

I find it odd that the meme about these sprites is "haha he has no nose" when it's the black pixel between his eyes, not to mention the nose is clearly visible in about half the sprites.
