Tbh this might be my favorite fan sprite sheet ever. It feels authentic, somehow.

@Kalgeeksout nah Asriel's clearly going to Spamton Burger as his roast is ruined

"Delightfully Devilish, Asriel!"
Asriel says to himself, about to leave his house through the window to break the barrier with Chara.

i really feel like asriel would straight up breakdance if dancing during the sweet cap n' cakes fight idfk why-

@ChipsLover No, I think you mean Ralsei.

@dogtroid susie

@lev same and hopefully he will have a appearance on one of the chapters on deltarune, soon or later but I think he's going to appeared on around chapter 5 - 7 or idk, we will know when the full game comes out

@ChipsLover Yeah but we haven't seen him yet

this sprite sheet make want asriel in deltarune more then ever

Isn't Asriel already in deltarune?

why would the blushing sprites be used

@EpicAnimeKid I feel as though you don't need to ask for permission for using these sprites. All that he asks is that you give credit; nothing more, nothing less.

@MisterMike Can I use these in a Fangame I'm making? I'll credit you.

@Petie late response from me but honestly I'm thankful to know this, I was worryingly unsure if I was over-criticizing sheets or not since I try to catch as many details as I can and be as clear as possible. I wasn't around VG Resource's forums that much so it's a relief to know that a lot of words won't always be seen as overwhelming (in cases like this anyway).

wow its that one guy

aw oh my god this is adorable

Such a wholesome comments section.

@MisterMike:
It's funny you should say that. While it's certainly uncommon these days, back when the forums were active, this kind of critique was one of the primary purposes of the community. When it's done as it was here (constructively rather than in a negative or mean way), this kind of feedback was a wonderful way for new spriters to learn and grow. Unfortunately, not everyone was so constructive and with the death of forums, the back and forth critiquing process kind of went by the wayside but it's an important part of the site's history nonetheless.
uncommon for a wesbite like this

@TakeTwoAncy @KirbyLover2048 Thanks you two! Man, you lads, uhh... really get into your criticisms. Which isn't a bad thing, mind, just uhh... uncommon for a wesbite like this. Nevertheless, I'll try to answer as much of your questions as I can.
Firstly, this is very much supposed to be Asriel post college. I know his adult self in Undertale was pretty sizeable, but given him and Kris grew up together, all of their friends seem to be around the same age and size, and considering Ralsei's size, I figured he'd likely be around that size as well. Also keep in mind that the typical age for someone attending college is around 17-24, and Toriel and Asgore are... pretty old, at least in their 40s or 50s. Considering that, it'd make sense for Asriel to be around this size. Kid still has plenty of time to grow, y'know?
Second, the overworld sprites. I agree that the face doesn't quite seem... "goat-like", but that wasn't exactly my main focus. Rather, it was to ensure that his face was not only expressive, but easily readable. It's pretty tricky, and at the end of the day some compromise needed to be made. Ultimately, I feel I made the right call with how his face looks.
His mugshots were very much the same thing, they were made to be expressive rather than adhere to a more rigid facial structure. A good example is his fangs. Representing his fangs in certain frames is difficult to do without making the mouth look weird, so I elected not to add them in. (This is consistent with how Ralsei's mugshots work, by the way.) That said, while I don't think they look bad as they are right now, I agree that some changes can and should be made. Specifically, the last mugshot was indeed a reference to Flowey's shock face done entirely for the sillies, it's supposed to look different from the others due to it's more humorous context.
I do agree, however, that I could've done a bit more to keep it consistent with the others, so I've slightly rearranged nose and mouth and added fangs to said mouth. I've also reluctantly added eyebrows to match with the rest of the faces. Speaking of changes, with regards to the minor inconsistencies mentioned, I've fixed those as well. If you notice anything else off about the sheet, do let me know!

@TakeTwoAncy I'd argue that the mouth on the overworld sprites is simplified because of the teeth (fangs?) being too small of details from that size. Trying to edit it like so could make it seem like one of those coy / cat mouths. (Y'know, the ":3" face.) This even applies to Toriel and Asgore due to the way Toby made their sprites at first, even carrying over to deltarune; It'd look even goofier as a result.

That being said, I think the portraits could use some work too. Most of them are fine, but I think removing the teeth (fangs???) kind of detriments some of the faces, even if it's for a little more expressive humor. I also think Mike could move the chin up or down for specific expressions, but it's fine as-is.

The main issue I have is that final face, though. I don't like how it's a near-copy of Flowey's same face in UNDERTALE. Asgore showed the same emotion in another part of the game, but Mike's edit is more similar to Flowey than Asgore. No eyebrows, the eyes being full circles*, and the way the mouth is shaped (+ no sharp teeth again) just feels off-putting to me. If others think it's fine, that's alright, I just think it looks weird.

Last thing I'll say is that there's a couple of inconsistencies in the sheet (moreso nitpicks I guess). Asriel's pupil shape doesn't line up on some portrait sprites, and the hearts on the front of the bumper car aren't correct with the logo of deltarune (bottom heart should point down, not up). That's all of my feedback for now.
