No, Namco did Xevious themselves, if it was Micronics, then the scrolling and the game itself wouldn't be as smooth. |
Feb 15, 2024, 5:17 PM | shadowman44 | Game: Super Shrek Bros. (Hack) |
Okay, real talk. Does anyone know if this was a really old romhack from when Shrek first came out and it was stolen by bootleggers, or was this made by bootleggers hoping to cash in on the Shrek hype? |
Feb 15, 2024, 5:15 PM | christopherparaujo89 | Sheet: Donkey Kong Island |
I honestly wanted to send more maps of the DKC trilogy from GBA version. But I would need a special program, a tutorial or an add code to be able to rip it completely. |

Huh, Chun Li's stage is totally different from the rest of them! Wonder where it's ripped off from? |

Isn't that the same star sprite from Super Mario Land 2? Also, am I the only one who thinks the Dragon Pot looks like something inappropriate? |

@DaviPixel-J Yep. The bootleggers even managed to mess this up because your mouse moves when you click a tile. |

@PGE Intersting. Did Micronics also make the Xevious NES port? That would explain it. |

Feb 15, 2024, 1:42 PM | Vehek | Game: The Sims |
@MorosePeregrine The assumption was presumably that objects were pre-rendered, not handdrawn. So the wish would be to see the original assets that were used to render the sprites. |

if i had a nickel for every time pac-man arrangement was made, i'd have two nickels. which is not a lot but its weird that it happened twice. |

Fun Fact: This game's engine (known as "STEAM" in all caps) is basically a souped-up version of the engine used in ShadowCaster. SC's engine (known simply as the Raven engine) was created as a gift from John Carmack of id Software, sometime between the development of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. |

@shadowman44, there were no 3D models for the items in this game, everything was a flat sprite. The only 3D models were the Sims and pets! |

What tool? When I use VBA, I need the tiles to be on-screen before I can rip them. Something like this would probably be immensely helpful, especially in the frame-heavy games where most NPC sprites end up being unused due to strict behaviors (like the Dumbledore sheet for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone). |
Feb 15, 2024, 8:11 AM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Sheet: Lady Golfer |
@Molly Yeah, I realized that was probably the case when I went into the tile viewer using FCEUX and saw they were separate like the eye whites. (Note: I still use NEStopia's palette) |

Feb 15, 2024, 5:50 AM | Dolphman | Game: CyClones |
@Maxgammer2014 Not quite. It was by Raven Software who were close buds to ID Software. The game engine is unique in-house one coded by Carl Stika. It was ahead of it's time as the weapon used mouse controls for aiming and shooting with accuracy, it also featured moving platforms before Rise of the Traid did. Other features it included were catwalks, sloped floors and transparent textures before they became the norm in the genre. And with limited geometry! |

For those wondering why there is a buzzy and spiny bubble at the bottom of sheet, there is a glitch where you can place a shelmet on Mario in editor mode. It only works in co-op making. With the green joy-con, place a P-balloon and hold it with the green joy-con. With the red joy-con, open the item menu on Mario. With the green joy-con, drag the P-balloon to Mario. Then with the red joy-con, select a shelmet or dry bones shell from the item menu. |
