Sep 12, 2024, 6:59 AM | Lavaclaw | Sheet: Loading Screens (Part 1) |
As a veteran World of Warcraft player, these loading screens have been with me through so many adventures. Each one is tied to a specific expansion or zone that holds its own stories and memories. I remember the first time I loaded into Outland back in The Burning Crusade — the artwork alone got me hyped for what was ahead. The detail and atmosphere of each screen really set the mood for the content, giving you a taste of the world you were about to enter. And yes, I’ve definitely had my fair share of staring at these screens during long loading times, especially back in the day when the servers were packed. One of my favorite memories is waiting for a battleground to load — especially something like Warsong Gulch — and just getting that rush of excitement as the screen finally fades into the action. Of course, getting properly geared for PvP required a lot of time and gold, which is why sometimes I’d just buy gold for World of Warcraft to speed things up. These screens, while they might seem simple, are a big part of the overall WoW journey and a reminder of all the incredible places we’ve been and the challenges we’ve faced. |

Well aren't you happy? |
Sep 12, 2024, 6:52 AM | Lavaclaw | Sheet: Character Create Icons (11.0 The War Within Alpha) |
As a long-time World of Warcraft player, these icons instantly bring back memories of classic raids and epic battles in Azeroth. The level of detail in each icon is amazing, showcasing the artistic depth that Blizzard has put into every aspect of the game, from spells to gear. It’s not just about aesthetics either — knowing your icons in WoW is crucial for quick decision-making, whether you’re raiding or running Mythic+ dungeons. I’ve often relied on WoW Boosting Services US to help me push through high-tier content, and having a clear understanding of these icons helps in coordinating with groups and boosting teams. Whether it’s identifying a buff or a debuff, or just knowing what spell to cast next, these visuals play a key role in gameplay. For anyone diving into serious WoW content, mastering the meaning behind these icons can make all the difference in your performance. |

I wonder what the unused enemy would do, i think It was a snake that jumped and then throw a fire ball |
Sep 12, 2024, 5:08 AM | QuadFactor | Sheet: Sonic the Hedgehog |
@SegaHatty: I assume it's an early version of the idle sprite that they forgot to replace. |

Why is Sonic using a different sprite in the first frame of the idle rotating animation than the normal idle sprite? It really bugs me. |

Answering some questions no one asked so you won't have to ask them: - The slope sliding sprites are supposed to be the Ground Pound move, as the New Super Mario Bros. U moveset was planned to be incorporated into every game style at one point. - The red silhouettes of Mario and his cape at the bottom of the sheet are most likely placeholders, as the text in the sheet suggests. - The same text also notes that Super and Fire Mario both are missing their right foot in their dash jumping sprites. The sprites next to them include their fully assembled feet. - At the very bottom of the sprite sheet, there are duplicates of Cape Mario's flying animation. These have an unknown purpose. - Small Mario's turning on Yoshi sprites contain an orange pixel between his face and hand. It is the exact same color as the background of Mister Man's sprite sheet of Mario from the original World game, suggesting that Nintendo didn't reuse the original sprites from World, but rather used an unofficial sprite sheet as reference. @superspongebobbros already mentioned this. |

Sep 11, 2024, 7:28 PM | Its-A-Me_Austin | Sheet: Mario and Items (SMB3) |
Answering some questions no one asked so you won't have to ask them: - The slope sliding sprites are supposed to be the Ground Pound move, as the New Super Mario Bros. U moveset was planned to be incorporated into every game style at one point. These sprites also have very slightly different color palettes. - On top of this, there is a duplicate of Small/Regular Mario's jumping sprite and unused sprites of Mario's other forms (except for Fire Mario) jumping with his foot more forward with the same palette as the sliding sprites, which were supposed to be the Wall Jump from New Super Mario Bros. U. - The sprites of Mario's head with the bottom pixels slightly lengthened are used for when he is in the Goomba's Shoe. The Super Mario Bros. game style has similar sprites, but I forgot to mention them in the comment I made there. |

Answering some questions no one asked so you won't have to ask them: -The lighter-skinned Mario sprites are used in the 10/100-Mario Challenge game modes, on the world map. -Luigi is only seen on the startup screen, specifically on Sundays. -The duplicate climbing Fire Mario sprite was intended to be the Ground Pound ability, as having the New Super Mario Bros. U moveset for every style was considered at one point. -The brighter-haired Big Mario sprites are earlier, unused versions of his sprites. -As for why Big Mario's hand in one of the swimming sprites is gloveless, it is most likely a graphical mistake overlooked by the developers. This was fixed in the second game. -The duplicate of the Mystery Mushroom is its default variant, where it isn't set to a specific costume, but rather changing to a random one each time. It isn't exactly the same, as it has some differently-shaded pixels around its "?" symbol. -When the Mystery Mushroom is set to a specific costume, it will take the appearance of the costume's idle sprite in the editor, which is why the costume idles are in this sheet. The full Costume Mario sprite sheet can be viewed here: https://www.spriters-resource.com/wii_u/supermariomaker/sheet/69695/ -The Weird Mario with a third button was supposedly an "appeal" pose like the ones from Costume Mario, and it goes unused in the final game. |
