Because I'm bored, mostly. I seem to have developed a habit of ripping from the worst games I can find. I think I've legit lost my mind... |
Dec 31, 2016, 4:35 AM | Yubari Sugiura | Game: The Battle Cats |
Thanks, will keep that in mind :D |
Dec 31, 2016, 4:29 AM | Yubari Sugiura | Sheet: Ms. Sign |
I just thought you needed some backup, and it was my first time, so you're welcome ;) |
Dec 31, 2016, 3:38 AM | Gaia | Game: Bubsy 3D |
Why rip this game? to show you what not to do when developing a game. |
Dec 31, 2016, 3:34 AM | Ton | Sheet: Starman |
No, he's supposed to be in Mega Man! |
Dec 31, 2016, 3:21 AM | Ryon | Game: Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition |
Tatsuya!.... soon you shall be a mugen character! |
Dec 31, 2016, 2:49 AM | Dolphman | Game: Slim Jim & 989 Studios Demo Disc (USA) |

OH YEAH!...Ehem! nevermind :) Nice stuff. |
Dec 30, 2016, 6:36 PM | Insert Kert | Game: The Battle Cats |
A good thing to note when assembling characters with separate parts is to watch footage of the character in game, preferably from a Youtube clip as you can slow down the footage and study the character frame by frame, whilst closely inspecting to see each different body part that the character is made up of and comparing them with whats on the sheet. Though some characters require some personal judgement and guessing as certain parts could be hidden or layered behind another part. This strategy isn't perfect and I haven't worked out definitive strategy yet but I hope this helps :) |

After uploading so many sheets of The Battle Cats myself, it was a nice shock to see a sheet made by someone else :D |
Dec 30, 2016, 3:18 PM | Wonder Prop | Game: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero |
Thanks for these, they'll be very useful for my attempts to make 3D models of Shantae and friends. I'm curious; are the levels fully modeled or based on a tile-set? |
Dec 30, 2016, 2:27 PM | Dan-H-B | Sheet: Jenny Wakeman (XJ-9) |
@Random Talking Bush: Nah, it's fine. I just find it amusing is all. Besides, I'm 31 now (So old LOL), so I don't mind at all. Although I kinda regret not finishing that updated sheet all those years ago; it would have been more show-accurate and much bigger. |
Dec 30, 2016, 1:36 PM | smedis2 | Sheet: Jenny Wakeman (XJ-9) |
@Dan-H-B & @Random Talking Bush: The intro screen of this apparently credits your thing. I can't speak Spanish very well, but I assume judging by the link it provides the dev. actually gave credit. https://youtu.be/MbOBQstwn0c?t=8s Also, this was by the same maniac who did CrazyBus... which explains a lot. |
Dec 30, 2016, 11:50 AM | shadowman44 | Game: King Kong 2: Ikari no Megaton Punch (JPN) |
Nice to see this game ripped. This is a good game from what I've heard. |

Hey, you're supposed to be in EarthBound! |
Dec 30, 2016, 10:52 AM | miyabi95_ | Sheet: Salon Cat |

Oh, good call. I'll make a note on that sheet. |
Dec 30, 2016, 9:09 AM | Ton | Sheet: Megaton Punch |
This needs Popstar and its various-lengthed cracks. |
Dec 30, 2016, 8:44 AM | Random Talking Bush | Sheet: Jenny Wakeman (XJ-9) |
@Dan-H-B: So, would this technically be breaking the rules as a "rip"? If you feel it should be taken down, then we can do so. |
Dec 30, 2016, 8:37 AM | Random Talking Bush | Sheet: Megaton Punch Results |
@Ton: Megaton Punch. :P |
Dec 30, 2016, 8:27 AM | Max Ward | Game: King Kong 2: Ikari no Megaton Punch (JPN) |
Alright, last enemies sheet after I sleep. |
Dec 30, 2016, 7:23 AM | Ton | Sheet: Megaton Punch Results |
When does this appear? |
Dec 30, 2016, 3:20 AM | Dan-H-B | Sheet: Jenny Wakeman (XJ-9) |
@Filler: Technically, it is a custom sprite. They're from an old scratch sheet I did back in high-school. I'm surprised to see it in a bootleg game. Weird... |
Dec 30, 2016, 3:14 AM | Ton | Game: Super Mario World |
@KMEDITS2 because if you can't figure out how to place Mario on Yoshi, I really don't know why you're bothering with sprites at all. |
Dec 30, 2016, 2:54 AM | Ton | Game: Kirby Super Star / Kirby's Fun Pak |
Did some general cleanup/made notes on what we need to replace here. |
Dec 30, 2016, 2:53 AM | Ton | Sheet: Galactic Nova |
Frames are missing due to the lens flare/explosion. |
Dec 30, 2016, 2:52 AM | Ton | Sheet: Dyna Blade (Ending) |
This is a junk sheet. It's been ruined by being made a gif. If we can rerip the Great Cave Offensive Treasures and the endings to Spring Breeze, Dyna Blade, GCO, and The Arena, we can delete this. |
Dec 30, 2016, 2:37 AM | Ton | Sheet: Mirror Kirby |
Why does the palette fluctuate so much? |
Dec 30, 2016, 12:59 AM | Dunkelschwamm | Game: Hovertank 3D |
Heck yes. You can see some of the Commander Keen 4-6 style in the civilians and the shop keeper. I also swear that one of the projectiles looks like an early version of the cacodemon projectile. We didn't get the trademarked id style hud face until Catacomb 3D though. |
Dec 29, 2016, 9:47 PM | AxelVoss | Game: Final Fantasy Adventure / Seiken Densetsu |
Oh, look, see?! There's Chocobos and a Black Mage and Moogle, this is TOTALLY Final Fantasy, guys! Sword of Mana, the hell is that?? o w o |

How do you rip sprites on PSP again? |
Dec 29, 2016, 2:33 PM | KMEDITS2 | Game: Super Mario World |

Could you mind, connecting it? |
Dec 29, 2016, 12:38 PM | Dolphman | Game: Hovertank 3D |
Made by ID Software when they were still employed by Softdisk. And like ID's other games, this one had its source code released. So enjoy modding this game for fun! |
Dec 29, 2016, 12:28 PM | videofindersTV | Game: Paper Mario: Color Splash |
Were pre-assembled sprites apart of the game originally? |
Dec 29, 2016, 12:06 PM | Dunkelschwamm | Game: Hovertank 3D |
I was unreasonably excited to be the person to submit these sprites. This game is super dated and mostly forgotten now but it's considered to be one of the first FPS games ever made. |
Dec 29, 2016, 11:51 AM | Misana1598 | Game: Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition |
Look guys they are finally ripped. (btw new here, hi everyone) |
Dec 29, 2016, 10:50 AM | Sunny Cassette | Sheet: Title |
Why didn't update the icon? The icon that i made was the same but with the colors of the Sprite Sheet... Edit: Thanks! |
Dec 29, 2016, 8:17 AM | Magma MK-II | Sheet: Sigma Gunner & Earth Sigma |
With the exception of the junk spitting move, all his attacks are predictable and easy to avoid, and you don't need to bother destroying the colored heads. Slime form is weak to Ground Hunter and Cyborg form is weak to Soul Body. |
Dec 29, 2016, 7:50 AM | Yubari Sugiura | Game: The Battle Cats |
Any tips or refs on how to assemble them? I'm kinda new to animating sprites with separate parts, so please enlighten me ;) |
Dec 29, 2016, 3:19 AM | Deathbringer | Sheet: Shadow Devil |
I think it was supposed to look like Wily Machine No. 6. |

Dec 28, 2016, 5:26 PM | Dunkelschwamm | Game: Jazz Jackrabbit |
I remember finding it to be a decently fun GBA title, but only because I had completely divorced it from the Jazz Jackrabbit franchise in my head. |

I have some very good memories with this one. :) |
Dec 28, 2016, 4:10 PM | Ready25 | Game: Mickey Mania 7 (Bootleg) |
@shadowman44 Its a port of Mickey Mania for SNES/Genesis, By Ei-How Yang. later released as China Rabbit Baby (which is Just Buster Bunny over Mickey and the title screen changed). |
Dec 28, 2016, 3:46 PM | Dolphman | Game: Jazz Jackrabbit |
An IN NAME ONLY game that's so bad, Epic Games had little to do with it other than licensing it to Jaleco and nobody developer, Game Titan, along with being credited. If you ever visit Jazz 2 Online, you won't be surprised that the fans of the originals over there pretend this one doesn't exist. I'm guessing Epic feel the same as well. The developers turned it into a generic Star Wars ripoff, or more precisely, a Space Balls ripoff. Yeah, a parody of a parody. Something you should never do. |
