There's still a *lot* of sprites missing. And, I mean a lot. Not even the existing animations he ripped are complete, they seem choppy, and disorganized.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say that the items follow the same logic as G&W
where its technically a model just flattened so one axis is at 0.001 (i believe) making it able to interact with fighters
