I remember it too, but it had nothing to do with the original Belgian comics at all. Instead of being a fictional species of monotreme living in the Amazon, they made it just a generic Bugs Bunny ripoff living in Africa with a gorilla sidekick, and a badguy who had a different occupation every time he appeared, ala Yosemite Sam. No mention at all about the species, and very cliche plots. More faithful adaptations appeared much later on.

@Vanilluxe92 True, Mario Kart 8 (besides most of the DLC and Deluxe characters) was pretty bad. Excluding Diddy made me sad :(. I never understood why clone chracters exist in racing games, unlike fighting games which need entire new moves, Racing just needs stats. I get it still needs new animation and models. but it's really not that much more work since you still need to edit a model for a clone.

But hey! At least the roster from THIS game and Mario Tennis Aces are much better than Mario Kart 8 which got nothing but clones.

Side note: does any one actually like Boom-Boom or Pom-Pom (Especially Pom Pom)? They are fine enemies but do we really need them in almost every modern Mario? Pom Pom has been playable in a sports title and now Mario Party! I just feel like there are so many more interesting characters to choose from.

@Retro64: Actually, comparing the IDs between SMP and Mario Party 10, it's likely meant to be Blooper instead (the only characters between Bowser Jr. and Boo are it and Sushi). Which makes sense if you consider Blooper was playable in Mario Party 8.
