We don't have an exact date but was online since December 2003. It was so long ago that PNGs weren't even a standard in terms of the Internet due to Internet Explorer didn't support them properly. You either had BMP (too big filesize for websites at the time), JPG (not good for pixel art) or GIF (okay if it's less than 256 colors). |
