@Super Piter: but why though
those koopa sprites sure look good, especially greek koopa
I love the parka Koopa, I wish Nintendo made these designs official somehow.
this game couldve been really cool if it where released i would saay someone should make a recreation but nintendo
Fun fact: Because sprites are rendered on CD-I in a completely different way than on SNES, they had to record a Mario World gameplay on a vhs cassete and rip the sprites from it.
the koopas look neat
missing the running sprites for mario
@Super Piter Before acting like a total asshat, consider that they were OBVIOUSLY comparing it to the multitude of SMW-sprited fan games out there, not directly saying it is one. Either way, it's not actually a Nintendo development.
Search up: "don't you hate it when someone hits your grandma with a walrus"
I thought Mario's sprites were just regular Super Mario World sprites, but checking them here reveals they're slightly scaled down.
@TheMorningFlash15: It also wasn't gonna be a fangame, from what I know.
Mario's eyes are so separated
@MotorRoach You gotta remember that this was a PRO-TO-TYPE. In other words, it was not intended to be the final game.
At least that walrus looks good
So in short, it was pretty much going to be a bad Mario fangame for CD-i.
There was a common issue when trying to play SNES games on a screen that wasn't in the correct format (e.g. widescreen), that the image was streched.
