can't argue with that, that game had 68 characters from like 15 different iconic Sega franchises and this series only repped like five or six of those series plus Sakura Wars and Space Channel 5 in both games, Shining Force EXA and Fighting Vipers in 1 and then Segata Sanshiro's proper non-YouTube western debut in 2. Also Resonance of Fate, a game Sega no longer publishes (tri-ace self-publishes the 4K version), is also included.

It's a crime that no Golden Axe, Phantasy Star (including Online and Universe) or Sonic the Hedgehog reps appeared in either game, and then Beast Mode, Alex Kidd, Opa Opa and Space Harrier were reduced to Ulala's helpers...

If you want "serious" characters for this "so sewious, so edgy" game, then I say have Shadow and Rouge as your Pair Unit to represent the Sonic series...I've been saying that for over a decade....but tbh I'd rather have Sonic and Knuckles over them, or alongside them....and then Tails would be the Solo Unit for Team Sonic...or you could switch him and Knux, have Knux be the Solo....and then Shadow and Rouge would have like Omega as their Solo I guess....and Amy would be another Solo just so you can pair her up with like Kazuya and Jin for the lulz.

Also Ethan Waber, despite his irrelevance, would've fit right in like a glove as a Solo, with a MIDI rendition of "Save This World" as his theme song.

and Axel should've been thrown into a Pair Unit with Blaze, with Skate as their Solo Unit helper.

To say Sega was misrepresented in PxZ would be the understatement of the century. PxZ2 has a bit of an edge over PxZ1 solely for Axel Stone, Kiryu and Majima, Ryo Hazuki, and Segata Sanshiro. Too bad we're never getting a PxZ3, because I would've loved to see Klonoa come back only to get mistaken as one of Sonic's buddies once again, but this time in-universe....oh, and we'd finally get that Dante and Bayonetta crossover!

@DigitalDiamal It's telling when Sega Heroes, a now-discontinued puzzle RPG for mobile, represented Sega better than this series did.

@Nathbusia Possibly your usual every hero from other universes band together to fight villains who also came from their worlds did the same thing as what the heroes did, teaming up but for world domination/destroy the world(s).

Seriously, has no one bothered to write what is the plot in this game for such section in any wiki?
Also, reading those comments back from the 2010s, that actually makes me question if the developers had such a weird bias for only humans and anyone that resembles a human to the extent has to be heroes, cause' the non-human/humanoids as heroes were pretty much "overdone" at that point, which is a really weird decision on their part.

I know it's a little late, but I am the exact opposite. I never use human if I have the choice, and if I don't have the choice, then I'm usually not interested in the game. I've always kind of wanted to try out that suikoden game you mentioned, but I have no interest in anything Fire Emblem until they have flat-out non-human playables. Shapeshifters are not good enough for me. They are still human. Even though they can turn into nonhumans, they still have That human form of that makes them less likable for me.

a while ago, I advertised a book I was writing here at this website, and people complained that it wasn't about humans. The reason I write books about anthropomorphic characters and monsters is the same reason why I want non-human characters in video games. I do not relate to humans, and I kind of don't like humans. people telling me that I am human doesn't change that. I know I'm human, but I still don't relate to them. I get it if people don't want to make video games that have nonhumans, but in a game like Project X zone 1, there is really no excuse not to have them. If you are seriously dead set on making an all human cast of heroism, why should I be forced to do that too if I don't like them? why can't I just write the story I want to write. if I caved into what people wanted and started writing a book starring humans, then I would never be able to write a story I enjoy writing, and that is why the books I write don't star humans and why they will never star humans.
