Wow, wasn't expecting these guys to have their original appearance. I thought that Nintendo was going update them with the modern Dry Bones design.

My headcanon is that once, there was a race war between the bipedal and quadrupedal Troopeas. All the quadrupedal Troopeas got rounded up, brought into the desert and killed by the more powerful bipedal Troopeas.
Now, the souls of the innocent quadrupeds roam the desert in the form of restless, sun-bleached skeletons, in search of peace, revenge, or simply closure, while the descendants of the bipedal Troopeas live happily around Beanbean Castle, in blissful ignorance of their families' dark history.
Meanwhile, in a different timeline, the quadrupedal Troopeas decided to sign a peace treaty with the bipeds, and the bipeds simply decided to migrate into a different country. This was the timeline of the GBA version.
So yes, Nintendo has created a timeline of war, death, and restless souls.
....in my headcanon. ^^

Well, look at it this way:
We could call them: Dry Bones Troopeas. :)
That way, it'll like an original Troopea.

So they kept these as being quadrupeds but not Troopeas?
