@lorenzsandi: They're completely re-done sprites, the ones in Tipping Stars have a more flat-shaded appearance overall.

are some of these sprites on this wii u vertion from the tipping stars game or were they new sprites for this game?

It's possible that it uses a combination of pre-rendered sprites for gameplay and 3D models for other portions of the game.
