I heard from a rumour once that Nintendo had to some degree a Virtual Boy prototype that could handle more colours. But this one looks like it was coloured for better readability instead.
Maybe the guy who ripped this re-coloured the sprite?
Wait, how's this colored if the VB was red and black?
