This week's update is dedicated to the memory of one of our earliest members, Julian, known here as Omega and elsewhere as Jazz or JazzmanZ. He joined the site on May 21, 2008 and in his time here, contributed over 300 custom sprite sheets. Much of his work focused on the Mario universe but he did plenty more as well, including The Legend of Zelda, Kirby, and Pokémon. I did not know him personally but I definitely knew of him, having seen his name around the forums, comments, and submissions throughout my entire tenure here. Sadly, on May 17, 2026, he passed away following a battle with cancer at the far too young age of 33. He loved this community and the larger pixel art community as a whole and will be sorely missed, though his memory will live on through his art, which was a lifelong passion of his. So, though there is a lot to see here this week, I ask that you also take some time to visit his profile and have a look at the talent he has shared with us here for nearly 20 years.
