Actually the dinobunga reference is a specific reference to the smw cartoon. They say it a lot in that show. One of my little Easter eggs. Thought it would be more fun than "hooray." Anyway, everyone is entitled to opinion but just thought I'd point that out.
Odd that the yoshi fire does not have eyes like the podoboos. And that the map yoshi does not have its new shoe colours like the gameplay.
@Goji54 Oof, that is painfully 90s. Doesn't help it's a reference to TMNT's famous catchphrase "cowabunga" as it was always only associated with Michelangelo in the 1987 cartoon who spammed the catchphrase all the time to the point it got annoying.

I agree, I like these better than the original sprites. Especially Bensalot's clever idea for Yoshi's turn sprite, and that he fixed Yoshi's orange arm.
