@Magma MK-II: They aren't, but I'm particular about following the in-game numbering system. It appears to be changed already, so I guess that's the final word.

EDIT: After further consideration, this has obliterated my interest in continuing the Dragon Quest VI rip.

Are all those identical sheets really necessary?

@Hooy-Hooy: If you think these animations are great, you should check out Heart Beat's follow-up game, the Dragon Quest III remake. It clears Dragon Quest VI by a mile. Not only is the visual detail increased, but monsters have more unique actions than the one or two found in Dragon Quest VI.

They haven't been ripped for this site yet, but I've posted a bunch on a long-dead blog I used to run. The game comes highly recommended by me.

@Kramlack: Yeah, I'd say the best approach here, since the names from the fan translation would be considered "unofficial" anyway.

@Voliol: I've got nothing against the fan translation, but I used the English localization names to keep parity with my other rips from the remake. It's easier to search on the site, for example, "Scare Root" and both sheets come up.

@Kramlack: Sweet seeing the monsters go up here. Tried messing around with the game some year ago, but couldn't figure out the monster graphics/how to rip them.
On a related note: is there a reason that the remake's names for the monsters were used, instead of the names used in the fan translation (as found here: https://datacrystal.tcrf.net/wiki/Dragon_Quest_VI_(SNES)/Values)?

@Dark_Ansem: Thankfully, the monster's attack animations aren't nearly as complex as the Dragon Quest III remake. There's also a nice Debug Menu that lets you fight any enemy of your choosing. I may try and grab some stuff in the near future.

EDIT: The future is now!

This game needs more love but it looks quite complicated to rip
