The HUD changes color with the Hyper Ring as they both use the same palette line. It also explains why nearby Rings also flash different palettes.
@DogeMayo The ones that lead to the HiddenPalace Zone. Or you mean on the fonts?
What's with the alternate colours?
I always thought the rings were too thick and that the one used in Sonic 1 & CD was just right.
