The tiling of the hatches is actually bugged in game. As Fred Bronze points out on S3 Unlocked, the 16x16 blocks along the center of those chunks got swapped vertically somehow, resulting in a weird pattern which doesn't look like it could actually open. What the sheet shows is how it should look if it weren't bugged.
The enemy is actually made of pieces. So I updated it along with a fixed palette. ;)
