@squidiskool It's actually still Classic Sonic, just with a different color pallete.

I really appreciate the alignment indicators for easy animation. This style of sheet is by far the easiest to work with.

Here's a fun fact. The special stage idle sprite is misaligned in-game. Here's an example of it fixed

What a scuffle. I'll put in few words too.

At first, I ripped the sprites indeed, RIGHT from the game's debug mode with character sprite list rotation feature (not sure how it is called exactly). I did not steal any sprites from the old sheet, everything has been re-ripped.

At second, the palette.
Void, stop being Taxman's mobile ports adept and do the Google research like Observer said. CW's ports are NOT perfect and they are not something you can lean on.
Here is the actual MD VDP colour levels measurements: https://gendev.spritesmind.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2188. Then, here is the page on Sega Retro confirming that: https://segaretro.org/Sega_Mega_Drive/Palettes_and_CRAM. This is the non-linear $FF scheme ("Rendered through MD" palette), resulting in "washed out" colours. This is also how BlastEm emulator renders the games, this IS accurate.
Then, I asked GebrilSoft (good MD tech guy, also developer of Gens/GS) about the palette and which one to use when ripping sprites. The answer is, quote, "Generally I'd use linear 3-to-8 expansion", which is *linear* $FF scheme also featured on the Gendev site I mentioned above as "old/incorrect" (but it is basically correct as well).

And yes, Sonic sprites were actually ripped a YEAR ago, as well as Knuckles' sprites, which are still "set in stone" like Sonic did. I don’t deny that I could have made any mistakes while ripped it, but declare that I stole it is just out of my mind.

I went and fixed a number of sprite errors on the sheet (including the jump/spin sprites being incorrect).

You're welcome.

Wow, what in the ever loving name of Christ's imminent birthday am I reading? You know what? I'm done playing nice.

One. I didn't rip these. Triangly did. I just provided a bunch of information and corrected the palettes from his rips, which weren't even in the Raw palette or FSH palette. We've had this set in stone for literally months, and I shouldn't need to publicise everything about my work with ripping, whether I undertook the painstaking effort or am finishing off someone else's, who's left it to me to finalise.

Two. Here, fresh from the emulator:

So tell me where they're rotated.

Freshwoomy - some sprites are specific to the Sonic & Knuckles sheet, since they show up in the game. One thing I hate is feeling rushed, and I do have other things that I want to do and/or have to do away from the computer, so when I say I will finish, I will, it's just a case of remaining patient for that.

Void, since you give zero care about approaching me privately, and believe me I have been patient and waiting for you to actually do this, allow me to also engage you publicly - and this extends to the rest of you naysayers, because I know you're out there. First of all, let's not hide the fact that you clearly have some sort of problem with me and, for some reason, are too scared to actually talk to me about it, instead finding opportunities to take shots when the situation calls for it. If Kris had an issue, he has had time to, and can, come to me himself.

Second. The palette is not "incorrect". It's actually accurate to the Genesis' hardware, I have had so many dozens of conversations about it and even researched it myself. If you cannot take the effort for a simple google search, then it's not my problem.

Third. Highlight the inaccuracy, because I'm going over the comments, then looking at the sheet, and cannot find what you're talking about.

Fourth. Are you seriously implying I am - or Triangly for that matter - stealing sprites from previous rips? Because I have no time of day for such accusations and frankly, find it humorous that you would even put that forward. Unless you have evidence, go get over yourself, because at this point I'm all but certain you just want to invalidate my work and destroy the effort I've undertaken to get my rips in order. I haven't seen you commit to hundreds of hours towards ripping the content, so the fact you're even trying to invalidate it with "lol must be stolen" leads me to believe that, as I mentioned previously in this paragraph, you are just out to spitefully destroy my capacity. And if that's the case, it honestly boggles my mind as to why.

Lastly. I replaced it. So what. I'm still all about 100% accuracy, which is something this website appreciates.

How do you report a spritesheet? B)

Okay, I get the feeling you just took the sprites from the original sheet, rearranged them, gave them an inaccurate palette, and called it a day. The fact you copied an inaccuracy you called out on the original sheet and didn’t bother to “fix” it leads me to believe you didn’t rerip it.

Not only that, but you agreed not to replace the original sheet if Kris fixed the spin sprite, WHICH THEY DID, and yet you still replaced it.

some of the sprites here are missing and aren't correct, the rotation sprite is missing the original standing frame, the spin is just the single frame being rotated even though its not like that on the insta-shield and the hang move sprites aren't on there (idk if they were used in the normal sonic 3 but still)

That could've been clearer.

But what would be the point? There isn't a port that uses it? Besides, it's not impossible to track it down on another sheet, S3K (which accidentally have it) or otherwise.

Cool. But I didn't ask you to change the scheme to Raw, I was asking for you to add the values with the other schemes shown in the bottom right.

Rotation 3 fixed, incoming revision. The other two are exactly like that in-game.

And no, I'm not changing to raw scheme. The colors used are the accurate ones. I've had multiple conversations regarding this in the past year.

Also the 3rd Rotation sprite has an incorrect yellow pixel and the 1st and 5th Rotation frames are different from the Idle. (I also think you should add the RAW scheme)

They're not all the same. The rolling/jumping sprites are exactly like that in the game. Two of the varieties lack a mandated shine that shows the difference of the others.

I hate to be rude, but why are all the sprites for the rolling and jumping the same but rotated when the actual frames are still in the insta sheild combinations?
