Amazed that you tracked down the "black and white" version.
I noticed something about this in the game. Those character animations are... sprites. Before this I was very confused of the different sheet structure, but it makes sense now. Now, it's time to bash SEGA for the umptieth time. Nothing about the structure of the animations NEEDED to be sprites and doing so actually takes up more tiles, as some animations (the best example being Eggman) duplicate tiles that would've been static for a plane map. And no, I doubt Sonic 3 Complete optimised this.
Fix has been taken care of. Please PM me any issues on other sheets in future.
Hey, I noticed that Robotnik's animations don't match the box.
The only unique object amongst them is Mecha Sonic, due to its different palette for GBS, and that palette is on the Mecha Sonic sheet. I'm not seeing much purpose in forming up a sheet with no new content.
Are you going to put the characters (Mecha Sonic, Super Sonic, etc.) that show up depending on difficulty in a separate sheet?
I believe he means the cutout squares where the sprite animation would normally take place. Bumping the cartridge can cause Blue Sphere to glitch up like that.

The Cubes on the characters... I remember tapping my cartridge and the Cubes where there. I reset my console and it was still there. It actually happened on actual hardware
Isn't there a monochrome palette of the characters when you lock on a game that isn't S1, S2, or S3?

I also wonder if it was rendered with the black BG or not. (If it is updated please include the Tails Bumper Sphere from S3C along with some extra ones.)
