I'm guessing that in the 510 prototype, the extra jump sprite would go at the end of the final one, in-between frames 4 and 1.
I know the shrugging sprites aren't meant for this, but it would be neat if it was for a scrapped super form. it could've been him holding his hands out as the time stones hover in an arc between them.

Does anyone know the order that the jumping sprites go in, or is it the same as on the sheet?
Maybe the shrugging sprites were planned to be used when Sonic failed a Special Stage, and Sonic sinking in the 6th frame could be:
A. It wasn't finished
B. It was a mistake
C. When Sonic fails the Special Stage on the water (Water makes the timer go down SUPER fast)

I just noticed that the 510 Spinning sprite is actually repurposed for Knuckles in the Chaotix Special Stages

@Paraemon you dont have to be so rude about it, hes not forcing you to rerip it, hes just pointing out that the sprites were ripped from sonic cd 510. theres no reason for you to take it personally. theres literally nothing more to elaborate or explain about it. are you expecting an essay on why these sprites arent from the final build of sonic cd?

I think the reason why they gave sonic a different pallet is possibly due to some special stages having sonics normal stage pallet, and sonic could possibly blend in with it but I'm not sure to be honest.
Maybe that shrugging sprite that went unused maybe was for when sonic looses in the special stage.

I wish they used this style and palette for Sonic.
I've got the official Sonic 25th anniversary artbook, and on page 46 on the Sonic 1 section there's drawings that look like the unused ones here. There's ones for shrugging and falling. It explains why Sonic's feet are cut off in the shrugging and why his quills go up -he's falling. There's japanese writing over it but I don't know what it says.
