They just like to "Psych!" you
the hand item would have been useful, maybe it would have stopped the Special Stage itself for a few seconds so we can get around more quickly (like, say if you have 20 seconds left and you destroyed 3 UFO's, maybe the hand item would have stopped everything so Sonic can destroy the UFO's easier)
