@walmaker Sonic CD HAD cel animation.

This is probably the closest to Sonic having cel animation in a video game.

If you want to make this a gif use ezgif spritesheet cutter, its faster then ripping is piece by piece like it will take 100 years to do that

Everyone, there is 717 FRAMES in this sprite sheet. Like what Stickfin mentioned, use ezgif, sprite sheet cutter to rip entirely ALL this instead of ripping each piece the ol' fashioned way.

If you're gonna rip this, be humane and use ezgif. It rips this for you and you can even download a zip file of the individual frames.

the framerate is 8fps, and to split it into separate frames use this command:
ffmpeg -loop 1 -i image.png -vf "crop=iw/5:ih/144:mod(n\,5)*iw/5:trunc(n/5)*ih/144" -vframes 720 out%d.png
ffmpeg -loop 1 -i image.png -vf "crop=iw/5:ih/144:mod(n\,5)*iw/5:trunc(n/5)*ih/144" -vframes 720 out%d.png

Zip files are good.

I guess this was a pain in the butt rip all of this, good job

At some point, they're more practical, though. But I don't think this is one of those cases, especially since the sheet doesn't even reach 3 MB.
I'd question whether it's a good idea to rip every single frame from a FMV, but at least here it seems to work out fine. I'm kinda amazed by that.

Zip files are bad.

this is a big sheet. i appreciate the work you put into this but you should've made it a zip file, it would be easier anyway. at least i think so.
