In order:

- fatloser2 can sometimes replace the Toad retainers in castle levels. He says "hey dudez", "360 noscope B)", "sub to fatloser2 today" instead of the usual "our princess is in another castle!". I'm pretty sure he's a dev injoke from 1.9-2.0-ish, but I don't know for certain.
- The OBEY cap sometimes appears on Goombas, marking them as Jeff.
- The mushroom as far as I'm aware goes unused.
- The Captain Falcon image doesn't show up in-game, but is internally used by the 'captain' object which draws the 'Made in Game Maker 8.2 - And using FMOD' screen (and in prior versions, the 'Made in Brazil' screen, though back then it didn't use this sprite).
- Old Samba is the original sprite for the enemy dummy/Samba.
- The Trollitor is used when loading levels from Sonic Boll Redux (an unofficial, but dev-endorsed mod of 1.9 that essentially modernizes it to look like 2.1). It replaces banana monitors.
- IMAGE_NEEDED is a goner version of Darwin Needed that's tied to the ENGINE easter egg.
