Well, to any normal individual, you'd probably think so, albeit the fact that this is a traditional fighting game. There does exist Indie Smash Bros games, a few examples being Indie Pogo and the upcoming Fraymakers.
Though, out of all of the "Indie" characters in this game, only Quote, Curly, Isaac, Shovel Knight, and Gunvolt are from outside this game, the rest are entirely original.

For anybody wondering if there's any connection between these characters, everyone save for Shovel Knight and Gunvolt comes from a game that was either published by Nicalis (this game's publisher), published by Studio Saizensen (this game's developers), or both.
