I just can't explain why the others are in color though.
@TheRedSmarty, It probably starts out as black in the game's memory, and when you load the game, it colors it in.
The number icons are used in Captain Toad stages.
I have another question though: Why is the touch cursor for Bowser Jr. black here when I'm pretty sure it's orange in-game?
