Yeah that's an inconsistency I noticed too (I have a mod up on GameBanana that fixes it so that the overworld back sprite has a zipper too)
This is weird to note, but it looks like the X-Nauts have inconsistent backs here. The audience version still has what I always guessed was a zipper, how they put their suits on but now they have back sprites because I guess since Peach disguises as one, and now shows the same X straps on the back too?
