no, its just different
Anyone feel like this game aged poorly?
Y'know I've been curious about and and hoping someone could shed some light on how the flat paper characters have been animated in this game and Color Splash, since they're apparently just sprites like in 64 yet they can bend and contort like models.
How would you be able to get pngs of the characters? I wanna do stuff with the shy guys but they”re all in sprite sheets and I can’t do anything with the sheets?
peaker mario the origami king
where are the other UI elements such as those found in the HUD?
AYYYYYEEEE!!!
Currently ripping Bowser Jr.
Edit a few months later: Never mind, I'll try to rip something else. :P

Though, custom texture packs work with PM64 so i could be wrong
@Fawfulthegreat64 that sounds pretty interesting!
I know the N64 game uses layering for certain larger characters like Bowser (which makes them trickier to remaster in mods) but I don't think the sprites themselves are textures but rather actual pixels with assigned palettes
I think in 64 they're rectangular as well, but there are some iffy models that might have been shaped to said character or model.
In Color Splash and Origami King they're basically rectangles with a texture. In Thousand Year Door, Super Paper Mario and Sticker Star they're rigged models with lots of textured planes. I'm not entirely sure about Paper Mario 64.
I've always wondered how the models work in paper mario games. Are the character models just rectangles with a texture of the character on top? Or do the models match the shape of each character?

Love pending sheets for being so specific

I wasn't trying to be impatient, I was just saying a request. Sorry
@NMarioMaster7 Ah, ok. Thanks for clearing things up.
@DogToon64 and @ShyGuys_arecool I was talking to those who are complainin about the timing of the sprites coming in. I know that you too are wanting to help, and that's fine, but just know that I'm just tellin everyone else that ain't chillin out about this. Also getting these sprites ripped may be a while as of because there are a lot of them in the game that it's gonna require a lot of patience from everyone that's waiting for a specific one.
@NMarioMaster7 All I was doing was asking if anyone knew how to get to the files so I could help rip from this game.
This thing feels weird without a enemy category lol, but their models so makes sense.
