Why is there a bomberman in this game...
They were both edited from the Mario sprites included in Family BASIC.
... the Runner, the human Bomberman form... looks like the Balloon Fight character... then again the Balloon Fighter doesn't have the ear things, so I guess it's just the number of ways you can do overalls and a helmet at that size.
Cute trivia: The Lode Runners name, Jake Peril(or Wes Reckless, for the P2), was only given in remakes, and thus would not be part of the NES game. So this Runner is unnamed.
