This is because the game is using Colour emphasis (https://www.nesdev.org/wiki/Colour_emphasis) which make the game dim. More precisely, $2001 is set to $F8.
Probably something to do with either the emulator the ripper used, NES emulators don't have a universal color palette.
Why are the graphics in this game so dark compared to others on the NES?
