For anyone interested, Ayako I is based on the Nakajima G8N bomber, while Ayako II and III are based on the prototype Nakajima G10N. The latter 2 had 6 engines in the arcade version, making them more accurate to the design of the real plane. They probably couldn't get it working on the NES due to problems with sprite flickering.
