I did a somewhat simple procedure for this! I used a tile editor and put the bakground with just one color, I tested several until I found one that didn't turn black at the time of the fatality. Mk1 and MK2 I've already ripped all sprites , the job now will be the MK3 ones.
Yessss thank god someone finally did it. I had an unfinished rip of him since 2016. I had no idea how to tackle the alternate palettes since some of the black pixels are changed to whatever color. That meant I was gonna have to rerip the entire character sheet with the alternate palette and that was way too much trouble for what it was worth.
