For an early Master System game, those are some good sprites. It seems that Sega took care of the series fairly well with the Mega Drive being the weaker of the 3 that they worked on (even their pachinko machines of the series are a success in Japan).

@game4brains THAT GUY here who ripped from the Genesis game. It is an old rip to be fair back when ripping Genesis games was seen as a luxury especially tile ripped with the correct palette, only thing that needs changing really is to make it easier to change the palette.

The reasoning was that the game itself doesn't have many changes to warrant its own section. Kenshiro and Aazark are just palette swaps, other characters are palette swaps and name changes. There is also a bit of censorship in Last Battle. Much of the game is the same though, even the story was closer than what you would expect at the time.

The Master System game by comparison felt like two different games with all of its changes going for a karate theme when released outside of Japan. Most of the game got changed; nearly all the graphics, much of the music, even some of the gameplay.

These are actually REALLY good sprites for the humble Master System!

It really depends on how many regional differences there are. In Black Belt they almost completely reskinned the backgrounds and characters.
