PSIII was pretty annoying to play due to how SLOWLY everyone moves on the overworld and an unintuitive equipping system, PS1 has a bit of confusion as to where you're supposed to go at any given time (Don't make your first encounter in those trees to the south, make it be the area right outside the walls), and PSIII is just ridiculously difficult. This one is amazing.
I wish they still made these instead of just making them into tenuously-related-at-best obscure MMOs :c

It's a great, underappreciated game, but let's put the brakes on it being better than FF6. :P
Hear, hear. Several orders of magnitude better than PSI-III. I recently played through them for the first time. In the first one, I was instantly killed on the first turn of combat by the first enemy in the game. Moved on to PSII. That game... was a painful, boring, and frustrating slog. PSIV is actually really enjoyable though. Moreso even than FF6 possibly.
Underappreciated masterpiece, right here.

honestly, the story seems really neat so far, so i might give it another go
